Screen design

This is my final screen design which I am then going to design it in Flash. I have kept the design quite simple having the main focus on the banner at the top of the page. I have used three main colours for the website these are black, white and pink. The buttons on the page are rounded edge buttons. The content is in the middle of the page which has enough space to add more content if needed. Also on the content page there will be images and an image gallery to showcase the images.

Web Plan and Screen designs in sketch book

I have written a web plan of what I need to achieve for this website. After looking at other make up artists websites this has given me inspiration of what I want to design my website like. This has also helped me to plan what other tutorials I need to learn to help me achieve the website I will design.

These are some of the screen designs that I have designed in my sketch book of designs that I might use for the website. I have tried to keep the layout of the designs simple so that I am able to use the tools that I have learnt to create the websites. The content of the website I wanted to standout more then the design of the website so that you’re able to see the work for the portfolio.

As the creative brief was to design a website using bright colours I have tried to use pink, purple and blues. As these colours stand out more and work well if what the website is about.

Flash progress

For my self study through out the weeks of learning Flash I have done a number of tutorials by using books and the internet. I have done a range of different tutorials so that I’m able to produce my final product which is a website using Flash elements. I have found most of the tutorials helpful as different sites have their tutorials set out in different ways such as text and video tutorials which helped making learning Flash easier as the tutorials were easier to follow. I wrote a list of what I would need to learn to produce my website and then found different tutorials that would help me learn what I needed to know. I have learnt many different techniques such as buttons, image galleries and slide shows. Some of which were easy to learn and others which I needed more practice at.

I feel that I have progressed well with teaching myself how to use Flash, at first I found it hard to use the software as I didn’t know where all the tools were but after reading books on the software I learnt where all the different tools were so that I was able to do the tutorials. I then started with basic tutorials so that I was able to learn how to use the timeline and other tools so that I was able to create different animations. I have found learning Flash enjoyable but also at the same time it has been hard teaching myself how to use new software. I feel that by using these tutorials I’m able to create a simple website in Flash to incorporate different Flash elements in to my website.
